Why don't you take some time off, maybe 2 months or so? Sometimes one has to take a break and stop doing something, hopefully after a break, you will miss it and will want to resume trading again. Sounds like your style is best for earnings periods anyways so it works in your favor to take off...

I have used an i3 and have ran 2 trading platforms on it at the same time with no issues. I guess it really depends how many charts you plan to open at once, me I do 4 charts with one platform and 1 with the other.

It will vary a lot based on the situation/environment. Cost of living in different areas will be different, then there is the factor of how many people you are supporting off that income and the health condition of each person etc. There is no concrete answer since there are too many variables...
