How familiar is this at IB

In other words, cheap service for cheap customers.

will these orders be cancelled at IB?

Yes, you can place daily orders in excess of your buying power. I was doing this many times. I can't tell you for sure about overnight, probably yes as well.

[IB] Freezing your account for their benefit

Did you ever do international wires [and this guy is from New Zealand] requiring up to TWO correspondent banks filled into IB form? I bet you didn't otherwise you would learn this is not as simple as someone inexperienced may expect.

[IB] Freezing your account for their benefit

because of just like this reason the instruction has Paragraph 4: "When your ticket is entered go to the chat with its # and ask someone to resolve it." And always do screen-shots.

[IB] Freezing your account for their benefit

MidKnight, you're doing as ineffective as it gets. Here is my experience how to deal with this strange firm. 1. Do not call them and try to chat less. IB does not care of not documented communications 2. Create/collect a documentary proof of your account is frozen: screenshots, correspondence...

    Help a noob out....(IB)

I can not explain why the 1st trade was allowed but the 2nd rejected is okay considering the account was funded only yesterday.

    Help a noob out....(IB)

It looks like your account was funded today or yesterday. In this event credit manager won't allow margin trades until tomorrow. As for the 1st trade, it was probably in cash.

    re-open account with IB?

...and the account holder must be executed :D Seriously. I have 2 inactive accounts: one with Ameritrade (automatically transferred from Datek ~4-5 years ago, zero equity from the moment of transfer), another with E*Trade (6 years inactivity, $5 equity).

Partial Transfer of a Margin Account

Automated Customer Account Transfer Service You should make the information more exact by contacting NSCC or your broker. But it seems a debt isn't on the list of instruments handled by the system. Otherwise the receiving firm had to credit the delivering firm. Just my 2 cents.

    IB order didn't execute

On two occasions IB refused to care to establish a position in traded through limit orders. First time they even directly accused me of deliberate attempt to take advantage of price appreciation, speculating that I reported it "too late" (it was 2 hours since the order might be executed; having...

    New disclaimer from IB

OldTrader, Agree, most unilateral agreements aren't perfect and usually unfair for a customer. I just can't recall anything so much silly. Give us example of worse agreement if you can.

    New disclaimer from IB

No self-esteemed customer in his right mind would accept such a defective disclaimer. They seem working towards pushing out last reasonable clients. As for SIPC coverage it gets involved only when a brokerage firm fails, i.e. as long as IB stays in business you can't seek protection from SIPC...

URGENT, Secure Device Required for TWS

Wrong, I shouldn't thank anyone for referral to Google :) Google isn't a smart answer and means we are talking about rumors. The problem, if such exist, is factually addressed on official web sites like SEC, openly, without allusions, like adults do.

URGENT, Secure Device Required for TWS

Thank you. Looked through Etrade press releases on their web site for period Sep 2006 - May 2007. Nothing found. I said there was single documented case. I was wrong. There are 2 (two) SEC publications concerning two separate price manipulations combined with presumable account hacking...

URGENT, Secure Device Required for TWS

Sounds like today IB is bearing the expenses for client damage resulted from unauthorized access? Let acquaint ourselves with operative Customer Agreement: Comments? Please give us a link to these SEC and government statements. To date I was aware of a single case registered by SEC of Estonian...
