Everyone and their mom knew this company was out of money by march '09. I was appalled to hear Wagoner say that. But the ego of GM is what has lead them down this path for nearly 30 years. Oblivious to the writing on the wall to the bitter end.

shareholders get zip. new stock is issued and they get none. Sometimes secured debt holders of the old company will get shares in the new stock (piddley amounts to that which they lost). But common is unsecured and gets the fat one.

Hey its August '08 and Rick just admitted that the SUV market is going away and lease residuals on SUV's would be tough this year. With that kind of progessive thinking I can't imagine why GM is in so much trouble.

the dow is a CNBC sheep number. When i was forced to watch it, every time they asked anybody on the floor they all said the same thing, "we watch the 500 over the dow". Yet CNBC continued to pump dow banners. Sheep get slaughtered.
