I made an indicator, when it does go up, the price go up 100% of the time

Yup, if you aren't careful, you can get run over dollar cost averaging. Best place to do that is with treasuries. And one had better deeply understand how they move.

Speaking of the 'holy grail.' Deep pockets + ability to dollar cost average + ability to hold a trade for an extended period of time = holy grail.

I thought one of the premises leading to a bot is that it never tires and works relentlessly...lol.

    Retail.... 10% actually win?

I believe it. In my opinion, learning to trade requires a full-time effort. Most retail traders can't devote a full-time effort, because they have full-time day jobs. So, what do they do?

    Useless indicators

Hmm, I'm not attacking the veracity of your charts when I ask the following: Does the typical trader, here, trade the four year, daily time frame? I suspect that you have to be highly capitalized to position trade that time frame.

    Useless indicators

Is that a trick question? I say that, because I thought they were all useless.

How can i backtest my idea?

    1. VectorBT 2. Zipline-Reloaded 3. Create your own back tester. All require some understanding of the Python programming language. 4. I believe TradingView has a back tester.

Sleeping issue with day trading, Should I continue?

I wonder which is more damaging to the brain-- perpetual sleep deprivation or prolonged use of sleep medication? My problem with fasting is that I have to eat something before going to bed.

Sleeping issue with day trading, Should I continue?

I have the same reasoning. It sucks to wait 20+ days to get paid. I've been looking into either Axia Futures or Gary Norden's course. Nevertheless, my goal is to migrate to day trading, or at least incorporated into my skillset.

What Matters More: Entry or Exit?

Exit is more difficult, because more emotions are involved. Many traders exit trades too early out of fear of losing profits (or greed in the hopes of earning more profits), or exit trades way too late, to the point of near capital destruction, all because of hope.

    ChatGPT (LLMs) replacing programmers? Ridiculous

ChatGPT won't replace programmers. It's a tool that can make programmers better and more efficient. I think the tool offers more value to novice developers than seasoned ones.

Which trading platform does intermediate well with excellent charting?

ThinkorSwim is the best hands down. Although I trade with a futures IB, I refuse to use their subpar charting platforms. Thankfully, Schwab didn't tamper with ToS during its acquisition of TDAmeritrade.

Explain to me like a golden retriever why the market went up friday after strong job numbers?

The answer might be in the bond market. Equites and bonds are inversely related (this isn't a hard and fast rule, because at times both can rally and sell off in sync). On Friday, the bonds sold off. Why did the bonds sell-off? Well, strong job numbers mean the possibility of added...

Sleeping issue with day trading, Should I continue?

Get some Ambien CR. It helped tremendously. Then my doctor ceased prescribing it to me about a decade ago, because of some bullshit about risk of addiction. What's worse needing Ambien or being a walking zombie? I've recently attempted to change my sleep schedule to try scalping during RTH...
