    LiveVol

Recently started using LiveVol. Anyone with experience scanning for specific intramonth skew conditions? For example call skew is such that ATM IV is X% < 10 delta IV. Or some other way to scan for specific skew conditions. Their blog mentions looking for backspread candidates by screening for...

    RIP Thinkorswim

So what are most other TOS users planning on doing? 1. Move to another broker like IB and keep a small account at TOS for risk analysis? 2. If not IB, who else is a realistic option? 3. If moving, what risk analysis software do you plan to use that is equivalent to TOS?

You can use a different starting point to calculate the initial stop, but it makes more...

    Trendlines!! Liars Or Not

Like anything else in trading, trendlines give you a subjective basis for how you decide to enter and exit positions. They have no magic by themselves. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Although your chart and all the trendlines makes me a bit crosseyed and dizzy. If I had to guess based on...

How to hedge your option positions?

Your last 6 positions are already limited risk. First 2 have naked risk to 0. Decide on need or type of hedge based on you risk tolerance and expectation of the underlying and volatility.

Is Call Ratio Spread suitable strategy for an options newbie?

Along the lines of a broken wing butterfly, buy your long wing really far out of the money with extra wings. You can still trade your primary position as a call ratiospread, but still have the additional protection in case things go bad.

    options or futures

In my experience with swing trading I find options work well when fading the market, and trading the underlying if trading breakouts/in direction of the trend.
