Silver Wheaton/SLW is the Play of the Year!

Some interesting points here. Problem with metals based companies like SLW is that a lot of their performance naturally follows the US $. All looks rosy at the moment as the metals have surged again. However, should the US Dollar come again, these stocks will almost certainly decline, no...

    Uptick rule

The removal of the uptick rule is about the best thing that could have happened. In place, it completely goes against the basic concept of an order book, i.e, a market is made of buyers and sellers. Uptick rule

Hmm... strongly disagree with this. If you had an uptick rule all you would see would be a large volume of sellers which would push the price down as the market adjusted to the volume. Remember a stock doesn't have to trade at a price for the market to move. Companies like Google and...

long term trading makes a lot of money

This is one of the biggest misconceptions in trading; that it is necessary to make money from the markets everyday because that's what makes a trader. Buy/Sell and hold has always appeared far more professional to me; rather than trying to steal a few pips here and there. If nothing...

Bank of England to prop up Northern Rock

Seriously I cannot believe any market commentator - even a non UK based one - would write something like that *and* then state that they are in the top 5 of the UK's banks!!! The company are listed in the FTSE 100 !!! That's the top 100 listed companies in the United Kingdom on market cap...

Ouch! Looks like investors and savers alike have been reading the same reports. One to steer clear of right now I suggest. Picking bottoms is a risky business :D abc1

My first post; some observations on trading.

I understood it as 1.6 x (ignore my %) So for every $100 you lose; you make $160. On a 56% win/loss ratio you would have to trade a lot to make the type of money you are referring to or in very large size or a combination of both. Either way I don't see that much skill in your results...
