The whole world has gone crazy. Quant quant quant, algo HFT blah. Discretionary traders are getting squeezed out? How do they compete?

I wonder what type of strategies these Quantopian seeders are looking for. Last I've heard, it can't analyze tick data or sub-minute bars. Not sure how it's limits are pushed.

i like to keep it simple, if you can't see it, don't believe it.
To me, all that algo HFT, is all marketing. Focus on your business bottom line, making money in trading.
There could be successful discretionary trader next door to you for all you know.
