wide range bar counter

I want to count how many bars in a chart are wide ranging bars.... meaning the high> yesterdays high and the low < yesterdays low..

I have esignal and metastock... do any of these programs have this feature? If not... what program will do this?

Hi Mike,

this can be easily done with Investor/RT from Linnsoft.com, using Esignal as datafeed

It took me two minutes to get the following chart, showing the number of wide bars for INTC (red = down bar / green = wide up bar) since Jan 01, 2003

You can create a "custom indicator" for counting the number of wide bars for a given period, chart it on a separate pane (here with an histogram) or use it within your favorite Quote page (see next message)
