When will Interactive Brokers notify me that I owe dividends?

Hi all, I shorted Qcom the day before the ex-div and covered my short on the morning of the ex-div.

Does IB notify its clients of dividends they owe?

If you’re signed up for alerts, you’ll see dividend info announced for your holdings. Once the ex date has passed, you’ll see a dividend accrual liability entry (negative in your case) until the pay date and the corresponding payment is credited (or debited for shorts).
