What's your time frame and trading style?

I've wondered how often mechanical systems are designed for anything shorter than swing or position trading. I have heard of black box algorithms that are designed to catch quick intraday movements or find arbitrage opportunities btwn stock and option prices, but those seem more rare. I'd be curious to find even just one so I could decode their inputs on the tape.

I dont know about you guys, but there seems to be more people on ET that trade futures instead of stocks.
