What was your journey as a Trader?

I'm interested in hearing how you got started into trading, what was it about trading that attracted you?

We all know trading takes a lot of time, money, discipline, etc. What were your struggles as a Trader - from saving money to be able to trade, balancing a job to survive while learning, risking it all for your passion to trade, etc.

What did your journey consist of? Was it worth it for you in the end? What types of struggles did you encounter not only with trading but in your own life that reflected your passion to succeed as a trader?

It takes a lot to be a successful trader and it usually comes with more than just trading. I would love to hear how it all began for someone, what was done to make it happen, did you fail but never gave up, learned from that failure and came back that much better? Did it effect your personal life at all?

Hoping to read some great inspiring stories

Thank you!

I was ingnorant. A coworker told me he position traded during a luncheon. He said "Money can be used to make money"

I joined him in his prusuits. There was no struggle or anything for either of us. We knew that price change was the basis of making money. I took 300 dollars and half of my pay check to get money.

What did your journey consist of?

we used one page of the WSJ to pick stocks which had great hi lo variation. We bought at the low end and sold at peaks. we had the drill down within 20 days and I did trades for the next 20 days to practice with money.

Was it worth it for you in the end?

We found our costs were more than our salaries within two years.. going to college and working were poor choices we made before trading. we ended working qithin five years.

What types of struggles did you encounter not only with trading but in your own life that reflected your passion to succeed as a trader?

Fifty five years of not working and having total freedom make big demands. I never had a passion to succeed. The market is there; it offers huge sums of money. I spent time solving problems. I made oil companies stop lead poisoning. I made people stop polluting water. I made a means (EIS's in NEPA) to give power to people to stop others from messing with the environment. Anyone who is solving problems and needs income, I trade for. It saves me time in finding people to give money to.

This paragraph is a very popular myth. you probably believe what you typed. this myth does not have to happen to anyone, ever.

Did it effect your personal life at all?

Being free all my life has affected it. Being able to take capital out of Wall street at will is fun. For the Bicentenial, I had the fence taken down around Washington's statue in front of the Treasury building. we built a stage and did plays and music. The first play was "1, 2, 3, 4 Dump the Tea and Start the War."

Consider never trading and do something worthwhile. trading doen't contribute to anything worthwhile unless you are taking money OUT of Wall ST to apply it to MAIN ST. Here is some inspiration. You are a dairy farmer on an island before the revolution. one edge of the farm has a wall that separetes it from the land to the south. your hiers keep the land and lease it to people who build tall buildings for the financial industry. They put a plaque near the front door that explains the leasing. a street is built at the other ed of the farm (Beekman Terrace). In between some land was contributed to build a meeting place for a bunch of representatives who flags fly outside. The farm's furniture is on display on loan to a local museum (the Metroploitain.) The leasing money is used to help others in need.

Thank you!
