What is the Last Activity date under Profile?

Under a user's Profile, the "Last Activity" date does not seem to correspond to the last post date, or the last login date. So what is it?

Logged out then logged back in and everything seems to be up-to-date and correct now. Anyway, this site's renovation is a nice improvement, thanks.

Last activity is the last time you did anything on the site, like view a page. Your last activity would only correlate with your last post if you posted and then didn't view anything else on the site after that.
