Simply remove all the MA lines.
Then there are no crossovers and you don't need to think about it.
Those lines depend on what parameters you choose.
and there is no such thing as one-size-fits-all parameters.
Most trading books were written by
traders who didn't spend thousands and thousands
of hours analyzing the charts.
So don't follow the books blindly.
Learn to trade without using indicators.

If you learn price action analysis & practice it long enough, you will know (With a high probability) when a trend will start so that you can ride it.
Example, recent price action in Crude Oil & Energy stocks (Actually it started around 1 month back), from the price action, it was clear cut that this market is starting a new uptrend.
XLE (The energy ETF) stood at $40 at that time, went from $40 to $50 non-stop, that's 25% in a decent trend and without MA cross-overs in 1 month. And it's considered relatively a conservative instrument.
