Walmart, Costco and other companies rethink self-checkout

In the Walmart by me, the self-checkout is the usual fare (a large square area with about 10 stations), but right next to that are the regular aisles with conveyors, and two (three?) of them are self-checkout, but most people don't notice them because they look like any other cashier aisle, and are kinda' separated a bit with a candy rack between them and the square (boxed) area.

So while there is a line for the box, there's usually at least one of those tucked-away SC aisles open. Best kept open-air secret at the store. :)
Overnight is pretty smart.

I use the WalMart Pickup and never have to get out of my vehicle. Best thing that ever happened to our area. I see the younger folks are more in favor of WalMart delivery. Both pick-up and delivery will be the areas of growth i expect.

MOST likely.
Should be even better for people that don't like to shop;
but I enjoy it +also enjoy checking out their+ DG price patterns+ numbers.:caution::caution:[Local DGs has no auto check out.]
Plus occasional WMT signs, like the one for months that said something like '' sorry for the Hi price of eggs, we try to keep them low LOL:D:D'' Dont live near a COST Co.
THINK WMT is really sorry about no - low egg prices sometimes??LOL:D:D
MOST likely\ i was in WMT once + they had 2 big boxes of 12 egg packs;
but same expiry date + notable different prices. Good bird patterns.
