Virus question

You may want to check out the Microsoft website and look for critical updates. This is a periodic download that MSFT provides for free. I use the Symantc products and often an upgrade will throw one or more things out of whack. The critical update usually fixes this.

I would also recommend getting the Personal Firewall and the System works. It is your system, but the treats and hassles of getting a virus off your system make it worth it in my opinion.

I absolutely agree with this statement. I spent over a month on my old job trying to figure out exactly this subject: how Symantecs product could affect other software functioning. Everyone must make sure that they go to
http://www.windowsupdate.com and at least load up critical updates from MSFT after installation of Symantecs software. Latest MDAC installation http://www.microsoft.com/data is also highly recommended.
