Vertical "ergonomic" mouse

I'm seeing several listings for a "trackball mouse" when I search for ergonomic mice on Amazon. Anyone have experience with this type?

i have an older trackball mouse with the ball on top and the buttons on the sides. have used it for 10+ years and i love it. it eliminated any soreness/carpal tunnel... not sure about the amazon one
