Unclaimed Investor Funds - Tax Treatment?

Anyone here know anything about the tax treatment of unclaimed investor funds? do I treat it as ordinary income, or capital gains? or even something else?

I couldn't find anything on this anywhere. Any help on this from experienced and profitable financial professionals greatly appreciated..

Sorry to mislead.. It isn't in the billions (at least not yet)... Maybe that'll be an issue I have to deal with in the future. When you are managing money for a lot of old wealthy investors in far away places, you never know what happens.
