It certainly doesn't mean he's good for the country or that he's smart. It only means he's popular among the plebs. Don't forget, the people that voted for him can barely find the US on the map.

It does seem that more attractive cities in the US lean democrat, but aren't democrats quite popular among uneducated black folks whose worlds probably stop not too far beyond the nearest KFC ?
That's a big issue with democracies , leaders need to appeal the lower rungs of society to get elected.
What's amazing with Trump is how he is unpopular among western media outlets, it's probably worse with european media, reading them and seeing Trumps pictures, it appears the guy should be euthanised very shortly for the sake of humanity.
Yet world financial markets paint a very different picture, where Trump is about fine.
