Trading ES without knowing the price..

Yes you can trade ES and make money without even knowing the price of the futures. You can focus on the number of the NYSE advancing issues once an hour and trade the futures without ever knowing what the price of the futures are.

In the old days when I traveled a lot I would look at the number of the advancing issues and call in trades to my broker just simply saying buy or sell at market. To this day this model is making money but I don't think I released it to the public domain. It may be out there, it's a variation of the Oddball system I published around 2000.

It's amazing that sometimes a looseness of fit will allow something to endure that over-fitting will destroy.

I notice there is no ROC on your chart. Is this version the one that just used a fixed value for the advancing issues? (1450? - 1850?, I forget)

There are some futures which have many many many many digits.
eg NQ is probably the worst with 7 digits.

I don't look at the price because I can't discern those digits.
I simply click BUY or SELL MARKET buttons.


The best is DJ Euro Stoxx banks (from Eurex) which have only 3 digits.
