The last gas pipeline to Europe goes thru Ukraine...

B/c Ukraine posed a threat to Russia, as it wanted to join NATO. If it joined the NATO, then WW3 was imminent, because a war btw. Ukraine and Russia would then mean war btw. Russia and NATO due to article 5 of NATO. Russia was wise enough to stop that nigtmare to happen. The Western idiots even have not grapsed this simple fact yet.

NATO wasn't anywhere near joining NATO and that's well known. Even if it did want to join NATO, so what? Russia has many NATO countries bordering it, Baltics joined in 2004, where is your "imminent" war? There was 18 years to prepare for a war, nothing happened. NATO didn't increase troops in said countries by any meaningful amount, which changed this year because it's clear that Russia is intending to restore Soviet Union as per what Putin recently said.
What's with the "btw"?

And: since Russia can afford to reduce, and even stop completely, the export of its products to the EU, then this shows that Russia does not need the EU.

Russia absolutely cannot afford to stop gas flow to Europe for any long or even medium term. Russia will be in serious trouble in the coming months if it cannot restore gas flows since government revenues will have collapsed by around 50%.

The saying "I'm free, I can join any alliance I want", is simply wrong. It's a complicated process where also your neigbor has to greenlight it after confidence-.building negotiations etc., b/c such a step matters your neigbor's security as well...

That's complete nonsense. Your neighbouring countries have no say in it. If yo need to ask your neighbour then you're just a puppet state.

Nowadays, if Russia does not allow, then no neigboring country can join NATO, b/c such a step shifts the security balance between the opponents.

What are you mumbling about? Finland is joining NATO and has the longest EU border with Russia. Asking for Russia's opinion on it would be like asking a serial rapists if you're allowed to buy pepper spray for protection.
