Study: More than half of US seniors live in poverty

In 2021, USA was the world's largest economy in ranking with a GDP of 23 trillions US dollars.

So , we can say poverty is dark side of this no.1 ranking .

It's not just the old- the children have it worse in the U.S. than other developed nations.

@mikeriley, they are conditioned to do that, ie. manipulation & remote controlling of the masses works...

I stopped watching TV more than 15 years ago.
Only some years ago started watching Netflix and AmazonPrime for just the stuff I wanted,
without any fking ads: sci-fi series and movies like Star Trek and The Orville :D

That was a cool video. Gave the channel owner a like for it.

Despite commitments from the Fed to slow it down, the national inflation rate has continued to rise, reaching 9.1% in the latest Consumer Price Index report, a four-decade high.

Prices for food, housing and energy — the three biggest expenses for Americans — have increased 10.1%, 14.1% and nearly 50%, respectively.

Nationwide rental prices have skyrocketed this year, up nearly 14.1%, according to the July 2022 Apartment List National Rent Report.
[...]
Diane Yentel, president and CEO of the National Low Income Housing Coalition, told Newsweek that these prices are unsustainable, and will lead to a rise in evictions and homelessness,

"With the exorbitant rent hikes lately," she said, "more and more of the lowest income people will fall into homelessness."

"The housing market is like a game of musical chairs," Yentel said, "and when the music stops, it is always the people with the lowest or with no incomes that are left standing without a home."

One thing is sure. Joe Biden's economic policies are impoverishing all Americans. The filthy rich do not care because they can still have a nice life. If you work a 9 to 5 job, you will struggle as the price of gas, food, medicine, services, etc. all go up. Your income is static. Being retired, that is why I trade the stockmarket. Any monies I earn, I can spend on myself and my family as I wish.

I’m sure many 65 year olds would be thrilled to pick strawberries in 100 degree heat for $2/hour.
%%
LOL\sounds like sarcasm:D:D; actually i admire a TX -Mex for pickin' berries or grapes in the sunshine:caution::caution:
BoUGHT some strawberries for $1 a pac/pound this year= Short + Sweet Brand.
WE had a good child hood\picked black berries in the hot July sun for nothing, except personal pleasure + private sector home health benefits.
Hispanics never panic pickin' in heat; brown skin helps. [NOTa racial insult/ they were created that way mostly.]
