funds are insignificant in any commodity market. look into the physical side of trading. that area is less automated and more human (deal making) ... basically you can make more money there. for metals search for glencore or any mining firm.
specifically for funds, they usually buy a derivative on the metal from a bank or the exchanges. not news though.
