Some developers accurate take on AI

I remember reading this some while ago on Hacker News. Good read.

The whole AI hype is so much an Emperor's New Clothes story with almost everyone parroting the influencers "oh, what exquisite clothes the AI is wearing and how nicely they would fit our ass" and every now and then some crazy kid shouting "the emperor is naked", so far with little success in de hypnotizing the crowd of idiots and sycophants.
 
I was at a convenience store in Hawaii and anyway there was lots of foreigners there and this particular instance this one fellow said something about oh electromagnetism they were trying to translate they had translators for their group and anyway I indicated no more than that strong and weak nuclear forces and etc etc and then the other guy goes ohhhhh The emperor's credit card but the reaction of the group and the way he said it it was all just like astonishment so I don't know what transpired there something metaphysical but it just made me think of that. So that's one reason I'm especially annoyed if ppl say those two letters really to me because they are really doing a complete disservice to themselves by not realizing who I am and what they could really understand about the world if they weren't idiots but it's just whatever I can get on anybody's level usually
 
There's much to say about AI, both good and bad, but one undeniable fact is that it now excels at writing strategies and algorithms for trading. While it's not without compilation errors, its impact on the field is already significant.
