Poll should read: using ONLY an SMA. No other indicators.

Assume:

Just one SMA, no crossover, no EMA.

Appropriate exit strategy, money management, and time
scale.

All I know is that it is very difficult if not impossible to look at past moving averages or stochastics or MACD and know at what point of their forming one would have gotten a fill. Often crossovers, trendline breaks and stochastic signals occur during rapid price change. One will of course never get the price at crossover but the question remains about what price one would have
gotten filled at. Even with a sma the price will often run far away from the line during important moves.

The bottom line is that if your making money then whatever. But I'm sure many traders have blown accounts trading systems based on lagging indicators like these because they look great in backtesting.
