Excelant quotes Candletrader. Interesting that Ruth Barrons Roosevelt {RR} had trading experience at ;Prudential, Thomas McKennon, Drexel Burnam Lambert.

I am not a lawyer, but the copy right laws permit copying for reviews; Candletrader & I do reviews.

GO: And it’s very life or death, probably more stressful than trading.

RR: Actually, speaking of life and death...the insurance policies of floor traders, in terms of their health insurance etc., pay premiums just as high as skydivers, deep-sea divers and all the most dangerous professions.

GO: OK. Are there any positive things regarding the kind of profession that trading is?

RR: Oh, it’s exciting. It’s different every day. It can be infinitely rewarding. And it’s so interesting, and every day is a whole new array of events. Because there’s no limit to how much you can make with it, it’s very, very rewarding. Every day is like Christmas! You’ve got these packages under the tree, and you don’t know what’s in there, but you know it could be something wonderful.

GO: That’s a unique comparison. I’ve never thought of trading as being like Christmas. On that positive note, let’s move on.

Dont want to be negative but helps to remember what Ronald Reagan said about Christmas , applies to markets.

President Reagan said he saw so much bull****or horse**** on one Christmas-HE KNEW thre had to be a gift pony around here somewhere.
:cool:
==============================================
That DOES NOT take anything away from Ruth Barrons Roosevelt.
Actually RR made the SUPERTRADERS book by Art Collins & wrote the introduction also.:)

Thanks for taking the time Candle. There was lots of good stuff in this edition. I wish they would dedicate more pages to these types of issues.

Did you type out all this?:eek:

I, too, am on the SFO bandwagon. No other mag gives you more useful (and well written for the most part) articles on a regular basis than this one. They devote each issue to a particular theme and this month it's psychology. I just posted a link to the article on George Soros on the Gut or TA thread:

http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&postid=294466#post294466

Online access to the entire issue is free. I signed up for a free 3 month trial for the print version way back in March at the Online Trading Expo. I've yet to receive a bill. They really are a class act.

Uni (no I don't work for or have a financial interest in this journal)
