Series 7 -- Useful Books, Cds, Web-Based

I apologize if this has been asked before, but the search function on this board is insufficient in narrowing down my question: what are the most promising books, cds, and/or websites for preparations for the Series 7 exam?

Also, how long did you study and what was surprising about the exam when you took it?
