The sexual abuse of about 1,400 children at the hands of Asian men went unreported for 16 years because staff feared they would be seen as racist, a report said today.
Children as young as 11 were trafficked, beaten, and raped by large numbers of men between 1997 and 2013 in Rotherham, South Yorkshire, the council commissioned review into child protection revealed.
And shockingly, more than a third of the cases were already know to agencies.
But according to the report's author: 'several staff described their nervousness about identifying the ethnic origins of perpetrators for fear of being thought racist'.

This is an atrocity. It's almost hard to believe. But it seems to be a trend in the UK. What is going on there? The once great Britain has been reduced to a country that can barely keep its children safe because of liberalism.

Utterly shocking.

Unless there is serious change, America seems to be headed down the exact same path of this former superpower.

I'm saddened that people will think the "Asian" men are East Asians. The media must differentiate between South Asians (which is what Asian is refers to in UK) and East Asians. It's like saying Caucasians invaded Ukraine. Caucasians performed airstrikes on ISIS. A Caucasian man won the Oscar for best actor. Ridiculous isn't it? Yet the media is calling all 4.43 billion members of this continent "Asians". Be more accurate, media.

I read British newspapers often and it seems that "Asian" there is understood to simply mean brown people, from the Asian sub continent. I don't think they call Chinese or East Asians..."Asian" in that context, they are simply Chinese or Korean/japanese/etc.

I'm not concerned about the people here who obviously have the intelligence to know the truth, rather at the media who who seems to think it's okay to refer to 4.43 billion people with the generic term of "Asian." There are some ignorant people outside of the UK who might not bother to get the story straight and actually blame East Asian since some articles have not featured the pictures of the perps.
