Course overview

The accounting unit offered aims to give viewers an introduction to basic accounting principles in
the context of financial decision making. It will be part of the Bachelor of Business Studies Degree
offered by Monash University. The unit will have equal standing to the on campus unit offered to full
time students.

The unit is an integrated learning package made up of three components. The series of half-hour
television programs include interviews, graphics and accounting examples. The accompanying
workbook and textbook, designed in parallel with the television component, reinforces the subject
matter presented on television to ensure full understanding of the course content.

The course presenter is Prue Lewarne, an ABC personality formerly with Money Matters, Lateline
and Bloomberg TV. Throughout the course she interviews several leading industry
spokespeople and academics. However, because of the time limitations of the television
component, students are also encouraged to study closely the workbook and accompanying
textbook to gain a more complete understanding of the course content.

She's a babe and a half. I was heartbroken when she left Bloomberg TV. I seriously woke up at 5am each morning just to watch her. She got the blood flowing real good in the morning. Her Aussie accent, that hair, those lips...mmmmm Will surely be missed.

Are you sure she's actually teaching at Monash, and not simply a contributor on some pre-recorded video segments for the course?

While not strictly my alma mater, I did spend my first year of tertiary education at Monash. It would have been nice to look up and see this on a Monday morning at 8:00am :

Actually, it's a "telecourse" and you're right - she is "simply a contributor on some pre-recorded video segments for the course."

There's always Dame Edna.

My absolute favorite is Lindsay Arent, close second is the editor-in-chief of Wall Street & Technology Kerry Massaro....Smart, with just a hint of , well, you know.......
