part-time trader + other jobs

This is for part-time traders only. This can't really be done in a poll with possibly so many different answers, so we will go with a thread. Please just answer the questions briefly.

1. What is your job/main source of income or even if trading is your main income what is your secondary job for income?

2. Do you trade the open, close, or both?

3. How long you've been trading.
 
I still work ocassionally in my old profession (mechanical engineer) as a consultant. This used to be my main source of income.

When I worked in engineering, I traded the DAX open at midnight PST until 1 or 2 am. Also I put on swing trades using options (spreads and straddles). I also managed a portfolio for a family trust, holding physicals (bonds, ginnie maes), long term positions in equities and scalping the 30 year bond.

I have been actively trading for 8 years.
