Pair trades

Which broker lets you margin a stock pair trade f.e. long AMD/short NVDA? Yes I know about IB PM but there was another brokerage which lets you do it and I can't remember which it was

There are no offsets for pairs trades like that, even in a PMA.
Hey same question why can't you box trade and go long one and short the other? Or long and short the same stock? You can long an ETF and long the inverse so what gives?

"Short against the box" it's not a box arb.

It's against IRS regs to initiate a short synthetic in the next calendar year (or beyond, against long shares) for tax deferral or to short shares in another account. Let them prove it, however.

That sounds like stuff you do in derivatives. Never heard of that for stocks.

Yep, by doing it along with options in the background this indeed could be realized.
