Options Question

I am new to trading options and I am wondering why some months there are no options.

For instance there are September and October, but no November or December options.

How come? Do any stocks have these options or is there a reason?

It depends on the option's cycle

All options have one of 3 cycles.
Jan, Apr, Jul, Oct
Feb, May, Aug, Nov
Mar, Jun, Sep, Dec

Plus the first two months (front months)
Plus any LEAPS they list

Many of them become active when you get closer to expiration, so beside option cycles and depends what you trade, check your quotes later.
