Opinion: There will be no significant rise in unemployment

One thing I've noticed. My mom's friends who recently all retired, are now either going or trying to go back to work as they realized the hard way that their retirement can't keep up with the costs now.

At my own work, we've had to go through quicker turn-around with the younger generation, as many of them keep wanting to just tap on their iPhones all day instead of doing their work. VERY frustrating. Many of them even getting combative and believing that consistently using your iPhone is a RIGHT (even during work hours while we are busy). lol

Yep. There is no work ethic in the younger generation, because of the damned smart phones. Every single one of them should have their phones confiscated, and be forced to do the actual work they were assigned to.

Out of curiosity, @The_Krakenite What is your work where you have this high turnover with the youngsters? Which industry, and which types of jobs?

Go into any big retail establishment or office space today, and you see people not giving a shit, or even worse, just blowing company time. You may not see it, because you have never worked in those same industries, and know what to look for in employees working hard.

Belee me. I seen em. Whateer you do Sarge, do not go to the west coast. Mofos are mos def not skeert o work. They'll get right up to it and go to sleep. Then the next kid's ace'n full load college physics major, gobs of math volunteer tutoring on two hours of homework max, none on the weekend, looking at doing some actuarial work in his spare time. Can sit down and have a nice conversation, good sense of humor. Disgusting.

What is your work-

It's kind of many things, but to keep it simple, doing appraisals for jewelry, and other collectables. We do take vintage books, etc. I guess you can say it's a cross between a Hawk Shop & large Thrift Store.

Despite I've done some years of research on precious metals commodities, I won't even pretend to know as much as some of the appraisers I work with. Though none of them really trade commodities outside of work, lol.
