Nyse Members Join Archipelago Investors In Backing Merger

from todays WSJ------my question is why will the volume explode?

"Jamie Selway, a former Archipelago economist who runs New York brokerage firm White Cap Trading, expects the Big Board's trading volume to double once it brings on more electronics, and he adds that some of the investors he talks with say it could quintuple."
 
I expect vol to double or triple within 1.5 yrs of reg nms. :)

Reasoning:

Program traders, rebate traders, Day-traders pull their head out
= Increased volatility

In two yrs(time stamp today), listed market will do about 4-6 billion shares a day.

And:):):):) rates will GO UP!!!!!!(time stamp again for my brilliance.

Just a figurative speech when day traders dont trade listed stocks and complain about specialist. LOL complain about what? when in fact they don't trade that market because they think it is unfair. It's call play ball regardless of the fear factors.
