Nomura Said to be Building a Prop Trading Business, HIRING Prop Traders

In the long term, however, prop trading as a career may still be dead. “A lot of these prop traders are just being hired to run algorithms,” says another recruiter. “I spoke to someone I placed the other day who’s now running various different systems. Prop trading is being done by machines.” :(

LOL. I was debating clipping that part.
But then I thought, prop trading isn't any more dead than any other trading, the banks may be, but rest of the world isn't running algorithms, and the days of the machines are going to be shortened soon anyway. But personally, I'd rather let the machine do all the work and take the heat for screwing up than get my head cut off for losing billions on the other side of a bad trade or market turnaround.
