No quotes for pit

I am doing a couple demo's and the pit contracts on open-ecry have no bid/offer or volume traded. Is this standard/normal for all futures platforms with regard to pit traded contracts?

Usually they don't have market depth but you should at least get a level 1 quote.
 
I thought that it didn't make any sense. Why does it seems so complictaed to get one system that handles all futures contracts?

PIT trades have to be sent to a floor broker so most of the electronic platforms are not designed for that. But i do agree
