Newsgroups together with forums. Is it possible?

I personally prefer the user friendliness and the overview that a news client gives me, compared to the normal forum web interface. It makes it easier for me to browse through the posts and follow the threads.
I'm not sure, but maybe it's possible to have the posts on both the forums and a news server?
 
That would be difficult because it's an ongoing out-of-pocket expense with no real way to pay for itself.
