news source for dy trading and swing trading

stepped away from pc and in 5 minutes it dumped news after hours that i didnt see (brqs)

made me realize i need a good source of news alerts to make sure i dont miss big moves on good or bad news
Not saying that good news is not valuable, but in your use-case it would it help? As @MrMuppet mentioned, news triggered moves are too fast for manual traders to react to (well at least the initial jerks)

You will never succeed trying to stay up to the second on news feeds.
You will only experience crazy whiplashes in your account, before its inevitable demise.

A news trader is no way to trade. Develop something more...worldly, and well-rounded and well-thought out and well approached.
I know what I'm talking about -- I was once you, thinking up to the second news was the key to market riches.

Agree. News moves take off like a missile leaving traders wondering "what just happened"? To have a chance to profit from news, it needs to be quality stuff... and you need to be glued to the screen with finger on the trigger.

I sometimes think the algos are pre-programmed to watch for "key words" that hit the best/fastest news wires... so that a word or a combination of 2 or 3 words occurring close together triggers automatic, computer generated buying/selling. I doubt any retail screen jockey could keep up with that.

Best thing to do is trade what you know.. trade what you see... trade the chart.

Only time I use news is AFTER a big move, to see if it is a precursor to more or just a one off. i.e. News can help determine a major trend direction move. Other than that the signal to noise to action IN TIME, is too low. IMO

Thanks for that. Have you tried?

Yes, in my previous "trading activities" when they just started. At the time, I traded real time company news, as they could be great catalyst.
I think it takes times to process the information for Algo and human, as all news must be evaluated within the context, and the trends (short and medium). So, real time news are powerful.
I would suggest to use it with a momentum tool and volume profile.
That said, this is a stressful style of trading.
Best!

That is exactly what is happening. You can even get it for yourself, for a price.

The easiest-to-recognize and most glaring example of this was with Trump in office, when he Tweeted the demand that all businesses stop doing business with China back in 2019, in the middle of the day (in August IIRC). At that exact moment, the Dow sank hundreds of points in a minute. The clever folks learned to program their algos to also read Trump's Twitter feed, not just the news wires.

The good old days:) I wish they would let Joe speak freely.

im banned from twitter for unknown reason. never had an account and when tried to make one was banned instantly without explanation. i guessing someone else tried to use my email

read the news a few hours or even days later.

News reporters are slow.
and they need time to gather all the relevant facts

don't use it for trading.
Use it to understand why the market moved.
