Newest threads dropdown

I'm enjoying the new feature, however on touch devices the dropdown list can display late, meaning that you click on the wrong post.
The issue is compounded by a poor internet connection.

Perhaps it might be possible to fill the space until the page is loaded?

I agree that the load time for the most recent threads and other tabs at the top of the page is lagging and needs to optimized. I will work on getting that sorted out.
