New Video--The psychology of risk

We'll need some examples, mac.
Makeup, lighting, camera, angles, editing, accessories all makes a huge difference. It's rather profound....and how perceived reality can fool all traders. To make a million in the market, you have to be able to read between the lines. Trading is truly part art, part science. No basic indicators and support/resistance levels will get you there. Psychology and mastering your own mind and personality is detrimental, as well, to the overall picture and understanding, process. Dissect and reapply the daily Dow SPX, until a magical lightbulb of understanding and process goes off in your head. Don't be scared of options, leverage. They are dynamite, applied to a Dam....if you understand them....money, water, will flow to you like a river. And it helps to take up yoga, stretching, meditating, reflection and praying to Moses. Don't waste and rot your mind watching America's Got Talent, and Cooking Shows of Gordon and Rescue 9-11.

I knew she was a politician *spit ptui!* but... Ilhan Omar does porn??? Without a HAT?!

Everyone (and everything) looks so much more brighter, and edited, in professional photos....versus normal, every day, life.
That doesn't mean it's considered misleading or fake, though.

That would be like complaining that a Big Mac in person....looks nothing like the big, perfect, fluffy, bright, marketing photos,
Even perfect porn actresses....I can assure you....in normal, every day, life...you wouldn't even recognize them, if they passed by you in public.
I am not talking about his photo being brighter - I am talking about age concealment.

And ps: Big Mac is being sued for fraud photo advertisements- https://topclassactions.com/lawsuit...s-restaurants-falsely-advertise-burger-sizes/

Are you REALLY comparing Andrea Wylan in her car to the pic on left and her web pic to the photo on right, after she has added 2 tons of make up, fake hair, fake eye brows, eye liner, body tone, etc?

Mason, in general it sounds like textbook language about psychology. Working with a coach or psychologist is done in real-time. It doesn't have to be "measured" etc. to be supportive.

I will ask you the same Q, . . . Have you had the opportunity to work with a coach?

Psychology isn't an intellectual pursuit. It is like riding a bike. You can't study it in a book, you have to get on the bike, feel it, and maybe tip over a few times! :)
Andrea, well said and true. Thanks.

HelloStatistical Trader,

And why did traders listen or read Ed Seykota's?

@SimpleMeLike
First off, as an aside, you'll normally need to "@Statistical Trader" me because I probably read ~5% of all ET posts / threads. Too much volume to keep up with. Happy I caught this one.

Not sure what you're asking. Is this meant to be rhetorical (ie: you don't think Ed had much to offer??)

I used to read Ed's stuff around 1998-2004 and got some mileage from it. I got a bit from his musings on psychology and a bit from his approach to money management. I've evolved a lot since then, though, so I don't think what I do reflects him much anymore. "Your mileage may vary."

I also spent some time pondering his point of view on aerodynamics which is certainly unconventional. Interesting but off-topic.
