So because Hoi's and Peil's incredible argumentative power I have just transfered my life savings to MtGox and bought a shitload of BTC (under $460, yehhhaaa!), is this good news or bad news for me?

Not the best timing... as Gox is now $350.... but then again: this could be an extremely profitable trade if in a few days Gox will open its doors again (transport the BTC immediately to Bitstamp and cash in for $650 or more).
