All three are capable platforms, but each has their own specific ‘flair’ that makes them better to use than another depending on your trading style.
InvestorRT’s great strength is the volume profile tools that offer a wide array of visualization perspectives of the market and the volume traded at different levels. The TPO Profile & Volume Breakdown indicators are popular tools within Investor RT, and along with these options, there are many different technical indicators built-in for other more traditional metrics.
SierraChart offers a very high cost:benefit ration with it’s low, no-commitment monthly pricing models, and so many different customizable options/menus/configuration parameters it can be overwhelming at first. SierraChart is the perfect tool for the ‘tweaker’ who prefers flexibility and custom preferences/setups over simplicity. The best part of SierraChart is even though it provides so many different options, the documentation is meticulously kept up to date, so most answers can be found with some reading.
MultiCharts does also offer volume tools and configuration options, but it is presented in a more ‘by convention’, simple, polished package. Menus/Charts and other tools are intuitive with common sense layouts, so that many functions can be figured out just by poking around. It is also popular for custom indicator and systems development as it does provide a suite of tools in both its standard MultiCharts Easy-Language compatible version, and its C# compatible version for developers familiar with either languages.
Consider that via AMP which we clear, Sierra 1 and MC. NET is free and you can have both tied up to the same account.
I hope it helps your selection process better.
