I drive an Integra GS-R, planning on getting a Type-R sometime in the next year or two. Whats required to race depends on what kind of race you want to be in. The porsche is a good car, but the Z06 would be a far better car for the street and track. If you want a car that is good for the street, cheap, handles well, i would go with the Integra Type-R. It is an awesome car as far as handling goes, while not having too much power that makes it uncontrollable. The next best car up from that would be the Nissan 350Z. Awesome car once again (in the track version). And if you got the money, the Z06 would be the best choice. M3's are great, but the corvettes will be better performers. Porsches are great, but dont get all hung up in the name.
yes the type r is an excellent car. I've seen track tests of bunch of different cars, and I think the type-r did better or just as good as a mustang cobra. That just shows how well the type r performs on the track.
I just found out that vortech makes a supercharger for the Z06
I'm gonna try and get a used Z06... if not a regular vette would be good enough. Another great car for the track is an NSX. Almost 90K new, but their resale value sucks. You can get a used NSX with 30K miles on the odomotoer for around 35K. I don't understand why this is so. I mean it's an acura.. the engine will last forever. It isn't tremendous power, but handling and braking characteristics are superb. I may consider getting this over the vette, but if I find a Z06, Z06 it'll be. S2000 would be a fun car to drive... slap in a supercharger and it should keep up with most cars.
