I am sorry I mixed SIPC with it but it is not completely irrelevant! Broker integrity is important and a true transparent market is most important I agree with you .
By the way NO FX broker is under SIPC directly, FX futures being futures FCM is not also protected under SIPC . IB says the combined account ( futures CFD and stock and options) is but it has never being tested!
any way sorry I bought SIPC in to it ,, for FX OTC all the dangers are there only reason I mentioned protection is in case of dodgy broker going down atleast there will be some protection and that is only in UK
