CME SP 500 ES e-mini Tading Hours:

Sunday-Friday From 17:30cst Sunday continuiosly through Friday 15:15cst.

Opens at 15:45cst daily except Sunday
Closes at 15:15cst daily
Closed Saturday


A term commonly used is RTH hours which matches the Trading times here in the USA for the NY and Nas excahnges.

RTH:

Monday - Friday 6:30est-16:15est (actually 16:00est but most use the last 15 min when referring to futures and RTH).

Ok there are breaks taken between 15:15 and 15:45cst and again at 10:00cst-11:00cst

sooooo.....what does all this mean......who cares.....


Well, just be careful when looking at e-mini charts and numbers on websites about the OHLC.

The standard reporting method of OHLC would be for Monday:

Monday's opening 15:45cst (yes the afternoon) until the next day at 15:15cst in the afternoon. The High and Low will be in between these times. This is CME stuff.

Now many charting programs will show the calendar date to change according to the clock at midnight.

So to really confuse you......if you are trading from Japan it is already Monday.
