State television reported on Sunday.

The announcement was made in statement from the royal court airded by the television station.

The emir was 77.



Will it have any effect on the oil mkt?
 
Not much.

Before his death, the Sheikh hand picked his successor (Emir Saad Al-Abdulla). The gentleman is 75 years old, and has been around long enough to know the drill. Politically, nothing will change. Economically, nothing will change. Should be no impact on international markets.
