After reading another thread regarding Volume Indicators, my interest was picqued and I went to the eSignal Bulletin Board to download the Chaiken Money Flow indicator. My search picked up some others in addition to Chaiken. The one I found most accurate on a small sample was Klinger's Volume Oscillator. This indicator seems to be very responsive in short term, perhaps better than OBV which maybe a better swing trader vs day trader tool.
In my observation of the indicator, I see that Klinger's Oscillator has 2 lines which cross each other - indicating a change forethcoming in price trend. Glancing at the code, I see how these lines are related to the changes in Volume from bar to bar. Klinger uses a fast and a slow average to smooth the volume changes, creating the points for the first line. There is also a "trigger value" which smoothes the first line, similar to the way which the stochastic oscillator, for example, works.
Anyone else have any experience or insight with Klinger?
TIA
