Any kayak fishermen here in south florida? I have experience in fresh water but never took the Yak out on the high seas--- anyone with salt water experience? I live on the ocean with easy launching, but don't really know the skill set for salt water. Thanks! surf

I keep two fishing kayaks at my house in Tequesta.(my weekend house) I launch them from the back yard into the Loxahatchee river, but its almost three miles to the inlet. Great for snook and tarpon, but I take the boat offshore. There are some pretty good inshore saltwater fishing spots right in your backyard surf. Check out McArthur park, they have a perfect place to launch a kayak, with more shoreline and flats than you can paddle in a weekend.

thanks for the reply! I will check out McArthur-- I had not heard of this spot before so thank you. I am looking at getting the Torque electric kayak--- I know the hardcore call it a travisty to use power, but it will make fishing much easier and productive I think.
Lake Worth/Lantana Bridge is right across the street from me ( a couple buildings down) and the ocean gets so flat here, kayak should be no issue to have in the ocean. I have caught some very nice Pompanos and Jack Crevilles surf casting and bet there are many more fish just outside of casting range near the reefs.

well if you are that far south, take your kayak to snook island, or John's island. it's in the intracoastal bay and has some great kayak fishing. McArthur park is on Singer island. (Blue Heron Blvd. east over the bridge, then north about 1 mile to the park entrance)
