IWM split ?

I noticed a couiple of days ago IWM splitted, I didn't see any news about it
why the split ? it now takes twice as many shares and commish to daytrade it
 
Many high dollar ishares split. They're just trying to make them more accessable to mom & pop trying to allocate $5k of their portfolio :p . The news was at the ishares website, well before the splits.
 
It's particularly important with ETFs because of the prohibitions on trading odd-lots that went into effect earlier this year. I wonder why they did this.

Missed it also and called IB up premarket;
thought i had a bad premarket quote & mistakenly twice the number of calls by mistake.:D

Brokers like it no doubt and people who think 5 one dollar bills are better than one five dollar bill.
