I do not know all the details behind the TT deal however I believe the platform and accounts are directed towards institutional and high end option traders (dedicated lines, etc).
Yours and other comments regarding changing the route of an order via a drop down menu have been passed along. I assume it is on a list of todo's but I have no idea what priority it has. (note, if you choose best, the route of an order will show in the xmit lane. maybe this is a precursor to what you desire).
