How to disable price caps? It is useless pain in the ass. I could not even close ATM SPY put option (even though spy options are very liquid) position in my paper trading account. Neither market nor limit orders worked. WTF is this shit at all? My version is Build 963.3g, May 30, 2017 4:24:52 PM

How to disable price caps?

No way that I know of, sadly. Sometimes it protects careless traders from making fat finger mistakes, but usually it just prevents you from trading during volatile market conditions.

I've officially complained about 10 times about IB's ludicrous price capping algorithm. I understand the goal of such an algorithm, but the current implementation is amateurish and has the potential to cost me a lot of money. If I ever lose a significant amount of money because of it, I will go to arbitration against IB without hesitation because of how poorly it is executed. This coming from an IB user of 17+ years who generally loves their trading platform.
